私たちが住んでいる社会には沢山の規則や法律があります。それは、人々が幸せに暮らすためにあるのですが、その規則や法律を全部ご存知でしょうか？
たしかに、私たちが完全な愛を互いに実行できれば、世の中に規則や法律は必要なくなります。本当の隣人愛は、傷つけあうことがないからです。同じように、神を愛する心は、神を讃え、神に栄光をもたらします。
イエスは、ここで、｢神への愛｣と｢隣人への愛｣の二つの戒めが大切であることをあげておられます。
自分の全てをかけての｢神への愛｣は、あなたの｢隣人への愛｣を実行することによって、まっとうされるのです。表面的な義務や形式ではなく、日常生活の中での一人一人の生きかたにあるのです。

There are so many rules and regulations in our society, for the purpose of making people happy. However, do you know all the rules and regulations in the world?
If we loved one another perfectly there would be no laws and regulations.  For the person who really loves others, could not do things to harm them.  In the same way, the hearts of the believers who love God, will never fail to worship Him and bring glory to Him.
Here, Jesus says that two laws are important : “Love God” and “Love your neighbor”.
Love toward God, with all one’s being, will be perfected when one obeys God to love one’s neighbor as one-self.
This way of life in love is much more than the superficial rituals and formality.
